LEXINGTON, Tenn. (Heartland Newsfeed) -- With much speculation about the 2020 presidential race, a former candidate has once again tossed his name in the ring for top elected office in the nation.

Well-known cryptocurrency enthusiast and information security legend John McAfee, who started his race for the presidency in 2016 under the banner of the Cyber Party and ultimately, the Libertarian Party, announced Sunday afternoon in a tweet that he has decided to run again in 2020. He considered options running under the Libertarian Party (but only if asked) or under the banner of another created party, citing this decision will best serve the cryptocurrency community with the ultimate campaign platform.

McAfee was endorsed by radio pundit Adam Kokesh, former Nevada assemblyman John Moore, science fiction author L. Neil Smith and fellow Libertarian presidential candidate Joy Waymire in his 2016 bid, who would reach the final debate at the Libertarian National Committee's national convention in Orlando, but lost to former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson in the nomination race.

In addition to advocacy of cryptocurrency, McAfee has also advocated for the decriminalization of cannabis and the end to the war on the drugs, a non-interventionist foreign policy, a free market system that discourages redistribution of wealth and that truly upholds free trade and abolishing the Transportation Security Administration. He has also advocated for cyber awareness to make more action against the threat of cyberwarfare and religious liberty.
