MIND ENHANCEMENT | 21 DAY NO COMPLAINT EXPERIMENT | ARE YOU IN?

in 21daynocomplaint •  7 years ago

Hey there peeps! So we are doing a challenge!

We all could use a lot less complaining in our lives!

21 day no complaint experiment - endorsed by Tim Ferriss. Tim Ferriss is the best selling author for "4-hour Workweek".

Why we are doing it.

We came across this experiment when reading Tim Ferriss books. Thought about it for a while - did not do anything. Few days ago I tried it for couple of days - just to see how much I complain and OMG am I complaining a lot about small things.

What is complaining - there are many ways to explain or describe what is meant by complaining but for our experiment we will use the following approach - "Describing an event or person negatively without indicating next steps to fix the problem."

Complaining is bad for your health - negative thoughts leads to stress and stress leads to bad decisions and increase in cortisol - weak immune system/heart deceases etc.

Positive effects

  1. Your brain gets lazy with complaining but will require more activity (which is beneficial if you focus on answering each problem and providing solution). Train your brain!
  2. Turn off negative events - feel better, more positive attitude towards everything, more pleasant conversations with others, better sleep.
  3. People want to be around action-oriented problem solvers. Training yourself to offer solutions on-the-spot attracts people and resources.

No negative aspects on doing this challenge!! JUST DO IT!

We are going to offset our day count every time we complain.

We are ENCOURAGING anyone to join us! I'm also in @travellit and @reseller. It's gonna be tough. As a French person living in China , I complain a lot haha

@florine haha. We have quite some French friends and they always say that complaining is in their blood. haha Awesome that you are joining! Let us know how are you progressing throughout this challenge.

True, it's natural/cultural for French people to complain all the time about everything while I know a lot of Chinese people who almost never do, even if they want to. They smile while their minds are full of complaints.

Talking about that, short question: Is the complaint has to be said out loud to be counted or you also consider it a complaint when you already have it in your mind? emoji.png

We will consider both. Cuz the ultimate goal is to train the way we think and react to something that we might complain about. But it's totally up to you.

Thank you for the answer. It makes sense :)

I am also in, feeling better already!

Yea, man that's the spirit! Let's do this! Let us know how well are you progressing! Awesome! We all should do this! No reasons why not!

OMG 😂😂😂

What's so funny?

My partner and I did a similar thing - instead of complaining we're focusing on expressing gratitude. It works like a charm, every single time. Good luck with your challenge, I hope it will become an integral part of your life!

Yea, that's also a good way how to go about this challenge. I truly hope we can achieve that as well. hehe

Congratulation travellit! Your post has appeared on the hot page after 45min with 56 votes.

I'm a driver in UK it's kinda impossible here to not complain even in Your head when You are driving in england with all those "proffessional" drivers :(

I know that there are a lot of situations where you might think that there are no way to avoid complaining, but that's the whole point - exercising your brain to find solutions and answers. You just need to find the right way how to go about this "very professional" driving habit in UK. haha anyhow let us know if you will make any progress. Cheers!

Legit good challenge

Thanks man! Can we count you in?

Glad seeing this, it has great positive psychological effect, how do I enter in, am i to. Post everyday of not complaining or what.

Yea that's the whole point - positive effect in your life and possibly in others as well. You can enter by just simply stop complaining for the next 21 day. haha If you do enter - and you wanna spread the word (positive effect), just simply let others know that you are doing this - it can be a post, video etc. whatever you want.

Hope to see your posts about #21daynocomplaint around!

Cheers!

I WANT TO PARCITIPAT

Awesome! Just jump in - 21 day without complaining. Whenever you do complain just reset the days back to day 0! If you want you can record your experience or share it with other here on steemit, dtube, dlive - basically anywhere you want. Make sure that you inspire other to join - more positive thinking leads to better life. Cheers!

yha its like meditating

Thats a bad habit that we should definitely avoid. I think the most people feel good when they complain and see themselves as victims all time But we should do the opposite and try always to be happy.

We must agree and that is the main reason why we are doing it! Positive thinking will lead our lives much further and towards much greater accomplishments. Hope that you will also join us in this challenge. ;)
