The news is actually blaming the increase in crime on gun sales

Just when you think the media can't possibly get any more crazy, the news stations are now going to great lengths to attempt to blame the substantial increase in crime that is taking place exclusively in liberal cities with very strict gun-control laws on citizens legally purchasing weapons in areas that are not even those cities.

They are even suggesting that the increase in violence has something to do with racism as well.

They make no mention of the fact that these SAME cities also just happen to have massive defund the police movements and that the local government has caved to the mob demand that the police are the problem.

Are liberals honestly this stupid? Are they really this incapable of facing the facts of their own communities? Do they honestly have their heads so far up their own backsides that they are going to refuse to acknowledge that the absence of law enforcement in troubled areas actually leads to an increase in crime?

When the article was forwarded to me by a work colleague i read it with a certain amount of humor which was followed by sadness that there are people of my own nationality that are so completely blind to the facts that are right in front of them. This all stemmed from the George Floyd death, which was indeed unfortunate and tragic but for this felon to be promoted to sainthood despite a horrible and violent history, was silly to begin with... but now to attempt to paint a very untrue picture vilifying law-abiding gun purchasers with gang violence is going too far.

The increase in crimes is exclusively in urban areas and most of these areas are well known to have a high level of gang violence anyway. I don't know if you are aware of this, but gangs tend to not be overly concerned with gun laws, or any other laws for that matter.

The people who are purchasing guns right now and the months leading up to now did so because society has become increasingly insane in the United States and law enforcement is not being allowed to do their jobs. Police are retiring in such great numbers in New York City that the city has actually placed limits on the amount of people that can file for early retirement per day.

Is this massive exodus of law enforcement because of an increased amount of people that are legally buying guns now? If you think the answer to that question is "yes" then I am afraid you really need to see a psychologist because you are crazy.

When you look at the above chart you can see that background checks, which are required for most gun purchases, have hit an all time high in the United States and these people, like myself, are attached to that one weapon which can be easily traced back to them should they ever use it in a homicide. This is not the procedure that gang members go through.

The liberal media is just insane to suggest that increased crime is the direct result of increased gun sales. It doesn't seem to matter to them that not a single one of these shootings involved any of these new purchases... Not a single one can be tied to this. NOT ONE. But this doesn't seem to matter to them as they scramble to try to blame this on anything that they possibly can besides the obvious actual reason: Increased crime is happening in areas where the police have had their authority removed by the governments of those areas.

For those of us that are big fans of the 2nd amendment this sort of reporting is the most laughably dishonest type of reporting that can possibly be imagined. One conservative pundit (whose name i do not recall) compared the recent articles attempting to blame crime on legal gun owners by saying something like "Crime has increased in the past month, I had chicken wings this month, therefore chicken wings are to blame for the increase in violence."

It's a ridiculous and humorous statement, but honestly, no more ridiculous than the claim being made by the media.
