I had been outing with a friend of mine, a gamer and awfully lazy fellow, some five miles away from my home, near an abandoned railway-station, as we had been fortunate enough to encounter a sudden spell of really cold weather (YES, having a really cold weather is considered fortunate from where I live); day after day we had set off in the morning, taken the cheap public transport, walked leisurely until we had reached the rotten and abandoned railway-tracks and sat on our asses - doing Nothing.
Their is no worse looking place than an abandoned facility. It is a kind of cluttered and nasty antechamber to hell. Behind its apparent monotony that offers no excitement, no familiar sound of cars or people chatting, there is subtle variety in its slowly changing pattern of sound (mostly insects and birds or other wild animals), sufficient enough to keep us lazy-bums interested all day. It's remoteness, its somewhat silence, its ever unchanging atmosphere, rest our minds.
Day after day, then, found us sitting on the railway-tracks, looking up at the old and almost broken railway-platform, gazing dreamily at the distant station masters building. It is not strictly true, of course, to say that we did absolutely nothing, for we smoked great number of cigarettes and of course some weed (OK it was a great amount of weed too, you happy now?), ate some snacks like potato chips and chocolate-bars, drank an awful lot of soda. Occasionally we exchanged a remark or two regarding how we should think of something to post on steemit.com , a topic, a nice pic, anything. And then we'd put our cell-phones out and started gaming.
And thus I landed on this idea of ripping-off John Boynton Priestley's 'On Doing Nothing' and turn it into a post. Hope you like it. Please forgive me if you didn't, it is after all only my second post here and I have not a single clue on what to write about. John Boynton Priestley is one of my favorite writers and this is in no way to disrespect him or his work.
Thanks, if you have come this far, you are really a patient guy...lol
but man why do you have to be so lazy about it
