Should we give gifts in Christmas?
I'm always questioning things. It's my way of living. I once doubted gifts, like I've doubted everything, and I had concluded at that moment that they were simply a social construct. At that time, I believed that all social constructs were unnecessary and I could build myself up from scratch.
Well, now I know that our behaviour comes from our view in these social constructs and that they're an essential part of our brain. Trying to escape the social constructs will hurt us not only psychologically but physiologically when we're affected by our cognitive dissonance and other such problems.
I hesitantly concluded that while we should question all activities as social constructs, the fact that they're social constructs shouldn't stop us from performing them. We're social beings, for example, and isolating ourselves, even if socialization is per se a "social construct" is also a biological need that stems from our psychological states, which are very real.
Social rituals are good for us!
This means that our traditions and rituals, including giving gifts, congratulating people and getting congratulated, saying hi, visiting and cultivating relationships, are not really something we should skip on for our own health and well-being.
So, for us, even if we're god-forsaken atheists, it's always good to celebrate Christmas.
So Merry Christmas to you all! And I'll be giving small gifts to my family even if I can't afford anything too big. :)

Your spam is really fucking annoying @hiroyamagishi aka @overall-servant aka @olaf123 and your spam-bot army. You spam everybody, we ask you to stop, you refuse to, We downvote you, you downvote us. This is not what Jesus would do with his Steem account.
