Dan Dotson, the popular host of the US auction -wars program unknowingly sold a storage unit that stashed $ 7.5 million in cash.

Dan Dotson is in the habit of auctioning unclaimed storage units. The value of these bins is estimated approximately, and buyers sometimes visit them before the auction.

However, it is not possible to thoroughly search these units, which sometimes hold many surprises.

The host learned last weekend at an event that he had sold a unit that hid $ 7.5 million.

"An elderly Asian woman at the table next to me was looking at me as if she wanted to tell me something," the auctioneer told The Blast.

"She ended up telling me that her husband was working with a guy who bought me a unit for $ 500 and found a safe inside."

The man took the safe to a locksmith who opened it and found $ 7,500,000 in cash.

However, things have gotten complicated.

A lawyer contacted the man who made the discovery, and offered $ 600,000 as a reward for finding the millions of dollars.

The new owners would have refused, but then accepted a second offer to keep $ 1.2 million and return the remaining $ 6.3 million.

Dan and Laura say the discovery is without a doubt the most valuable locker they have ever sold.
