In the last bull market it took Steem 7 Months to go from .07 USD to $8. While it only stayed at $8 briefly it took years to slowly grind back down to the .10 USD range.
Good things can happen fast in a bull market and still very few normies are talking about BTC and I don't think this run has made it's way to full alt season yet.
While Steem was around $8 this account was about this size and worth about $94k
What will yours be worth?
No guess about potential values, but based on the 2016 halving and the relatively low level of search interest at Google Trends, I think bitcoin's bull market has half-a-year or more of wind left in its sails. And I do agree that alts will follow. FOMO levels are way lower now than in 2017.
On one hand, I agree that the split adds friction. On the other hand, though, giving out TRX with SP is an interesting new dynamic. Even though STEEM is still far down in the CMC rankings, its value is now linked to a #18 coin. If the value of TRX goes up, people may come here for a relatively easy way to get it. My only reservation on that point is that I don't know how permanent the TRX distribution is or isn't.

Everything is possible in a moment, but I think that these numbers are difficult to reach at this time, especially after the division that occurred

Steem was a top 20-30 project then; and the price was tightly correlated with Bitcoin. But fingers crossed!

I keep saying it over and over again like a broken record... we need to improve the user experience!
We need a good text editor, working notifications, better search functions and more. We are stagnant as far as development goes and people expect a lot more. Only die-hards put up with this out-dated user interface.

Ah yes, I remember those days... both the days of 7c Steem, and the days of $8.00 Steem. I also remember creating $200 posts on a regular basis. At $8, I'd be looking at $45K-ish...
Unfortunately, Steem seems to have slid somewhat into obscurity since then, but maybe this is where being linked with TRX will serve us well in the long run. But we need to get back to a more active community model to look attractive to potential newcomers... and it doesn't seem like there's much development going on, so the only thing we have going for us is that people can "make money blogging."
I also agree with @happyme that we need a new interface. LeoFinance — even though part of Hive — built their own front end from the ground up, and large part of their success is that the community is dynamic and has its own unique identity.

OH...!!! I certainly remember those $$$ days of Steem and Steemit. I had just become a member before the market BOOMED...!!!
There really is no reason it can't happen once again and move beyond that $8.00 mark - I suspect that it WILL... Another reason I come back here, because I'm not giving up on it like so many EX-members have.
Ciao
