Personally, after reading through the comments, I think that a happy medium can be reached (if you decide to add ads, that is). There are different ad groups that you can select when setting up ads…
Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
Disagreement on rewards
Fraud or plagiarism
Hate speech or trolling
Miscategorized content or spam
