LOVE FOOD • ENJOY EATING • LEARN COOKING

Hailed from a province in the Philippines known as the “Cuisine Capital” which is Pampanga, gives me and my fellow Cabalens/Kapampangan (the collective name for the people of Pampanga) the impression that we are all good at cooking, but in reality many amongst us just simply love eating and we do not have any idea how food is being cooked or even prepared... but I would like to think that being a native of the province, I have it in my blood (the chef thingy) 😂 so one day I decided to explore what’s inside me and focused myself in cooking. It was a looooong process, but it’s worth it!

After visiting a lot of restaurants from typical to fancy to luxurious ones. I have learned the art of identifying what ingredients could have been in the food till I developed that skill further and started preparing foods on my own, copying meals and giving them my personal touch/twist. Surprisingly, I have been successful to most of my attempts and it didn’t just thought me how to cook but gave me a reason as well to save money (I don’t need to go out more often just to eat good food) and greater satisfaction in what I eat (coz I have prepared the food myself with so much passion and knowing that the food tasted so good). Now I live by the principle that “if you LOVE FOOD and wanted to ENJOY EATING, while keeping up with your budget then LEARN the art of COOKING”. There is no harm in trying and discovering your hidden talents, there’s a lot of potential you can unleash if you just allow yourself to grow in all aspects of your life! Remember that in the process one thing is constant, just ENJOY!

BASIC APPLICATION: One of the foods I used to eat outside is the Singaporean Laksa which will cost me 60 dirhams each bowl. To all of you who have seen how it is being served in restaurants, check out my own version below and tell me how does it look like or even taste by merely looking at it. With 60 dirhams, the Laksa will be good just to satisfy my cravings alone, but now that I am the one preparing it, the cost of all the ingredients that can give me 2 servings in large bowl is 25 dirhams only! Plus it is now one of my family’s most requested from yours truly! 😉 And here’s my own version of Singaporean Laksa which I will be posting in full details on my articles.
