The simulation is as true to life as is possible on a 22" monitor. About the only thing not simulated is the "seat of your pants" feel when banking.
In this blog, I take a British Airways A380-841 (Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines) from Toronto, Canada to Miami, FL. As far as flying the aircraft, there is little difference between the A380-861 and the A380-841 with just a little more horsepower on the GP7200 engines of the A380-861.
Below are a couple of videos of the takeoff from Toronto Pearson International and the second video is the descent and landing in less than favorable weather conditions into Miami International.

In these videos I've tried to make the flight experience from a passenger point of view as close to what you might hear over the PA system from the cockpit. In addition I've explained actions taken during the flight and the purpose for those actions.
