An Aadhaar card or the 12 digits unique identification number has become extremely important today. It assists one in opening the bank account, getting pension, LPG and other government services. Many other vital tasks like PPF withdrawal are reliant on Aadhaar cards. Thus, loss of Aadhaar creates a kind of panic among the individual. Individuals can misplace Aadhaar card due to several reasons like one may not be at his registered address when aadhar card was delivered or may have lost the aadhar card while travelling.
However, there is no need for panic as individuals can get their aadhaar card in a matter of minutes. They can download the Aadhar from the official website of UIDAI or The Unique Identification Authority of India and get their aadhar card downloaded. Even if one is not tech-savvy, it won’t be a big problem as one can visit the nearest cyber cafe and get it downloaded. But it is still advisable to download the aadhar on your own, why lose some bucks for such an easy peasy task.
Duplicate e-Aadhaar Card Online
In case an individual does not have the acknowledgement slip, he can find the enrolment number/Aadhaar number from the UIDAI website. Steps for downloading the duplicate e- aadhaar card are as follow
Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website resident.uidai.gov.in/find-uid-eid
Step 2: Select either “Aadhaar No (UID)” or “Enrolment No (EID)”.
Step 3: Enter basic details like the name, email address and mobile number registered with UID.
Step 4: Enter in the security code as displayed on the screen and click on the “Get OTP” button.
Step 5: One-time password or OTP will be sent to the person’s registered mobile number or the email address.
Step 6: Enter the OTP received on the mobile number and click on the “Verify OTP” button.
Step 7: Then, the individual will receive a message on his mobile number regarding his Aadhaar or Enrolment number.
Step 8: After getting the Aadhaar number or enrolment id, the user can go the website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 9: Select Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrolment ID (EID)
Step 10: Enter Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID, full name, pin code, security text and mobile number.
Step 11: An OTP will again be sent to the registered mobile number.
Step 12: Enter the OTP received on mobile in the “Enter OTP” tab and click on “Validate and Generate”
Step 13: Individual's Aadhaar will be successfully Generated as a PDF file.
Duplicate Aadhaar Card Offline Method
Individuals can also get a duplicate copy of an Aadhaar card offline by calling the toll-free number provided by the government. They must call through their registered number.
Individuals can call UIDAI toll-free number 1800-180-1947 or 1947
and can ask for a duplicate Aadhaar. The steps are:
Step 1: Individual need to Call the UIDAI’s toll-free number 1800-180-1947 or 1947
Step 2: Follow the IVR options and select the option to talk to the Aadhaar executive.
Step 3: Ask an Aadhaar executive for a duplicate copy of your Aadhaar card.
Step 4: The executive will ask a few basic questions to verify identity.
Step 5: Once verified, the executive will accept the request and start the process.
Step 6: A duplicate Aadhaar card will be sent to the registered address by post.
Duplicate Aadhar Card by visiting the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
There are chances that an individual may not have his registered number. In that case, he can directly visit the Enrollment centre. Individuals can check the nearest Enrollment centre from the official website.
Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center.
Step 2: If an individual knows his Aadhaar number or enrolment number, he can request the registrar to issue a duplicate Aadhaar.
Step 3: If not then the executive will verify the individual's biometrics and then place a request for a duplicate Aadhaar.
Step 4: After processing the request successfully, Aadhaar will be sent to the individual's residential address.
