I decided to tell you about Maredsous Abbey because it is an integral part of my native Belgium.
It is a Benedictine monastery which was a priory in 1872 and became an abbey in 1878. Its architect was Jean-Baptiste Bethune. The building is neo-Gothic.
Maredsous cheese is produced in the cheese factory of the monastery itself. The manufacture of Maredsous beer has been entrusted to an outdoor brewery.
You can enjoy all this on site since it offers catering.
