Interface with Perception by Lelana

in abstract •  7 years ago

This is a painting I completed entirely in latex house paint. The richness of the paint and vibrance of color inspired me. The painting was truly spur of the moment. My friend had begun bringing me random canvases and frames she would find so I could put the price of my artwork down so as normal people could afford an original piece( at least that was my goal).
Some of the canvas would have something already painted on them, and I would paint over whatever painting was there.

With this piece i just let my arms do the painting..no thinking in terms of objects, just watching the colors collide, kind like a DMT trip, where no colors blended, just swirled together.
When I was finished, there was a pyschodelic story that had unfolded on the canvas, like a trip down the rabbit hole, with a different story at every turn of the canvas.
Everytime you look at it you see a new twist in the story. A new character emerges.

Most of my paintings have faces that appear over and over again. At Least i can see them, can you.? Interface-with-Perception.jpg10007007_653882018013014_7946502235810384934_n.jpg
