Has the @cheetah bot turned into yet an other comment bot style scam?
Right out of the gate, are you kidding me? Is this satire or something? Not putting me in a good mood by calling something that I'm actively working on, and have been for almost two years, a scam.
Whitelists not updated
No. Read the FAQ.
https://steemit.com/cheetah/@cheetah/faq-about-cheetah
If you're designing something like a weekly challenge or game, make sure to do it on a separate (designated) account. If you still get comments, message @anyx in steemit.chat.
Seems you either a) didn't read how to get yourself whitelisted and are just whining that life doesn't hand you things on a silver platter, or b) you did read, and didn't bother to take action so you could use it to further your agenda. Message me or @patrice. The lists ARE updated and maintained.
Lying about upvotes
If you read anything about cheetah, such as my last witness update, you'll see that I discovered a bug on steem with voting. This has been reported to the steemit developers who are working on a solution, see here: https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/1808
More comments means more upvotes. More upvotes means more profit. An upvote bot typically wont upvote the post it comments on.
....I would much rather have fewer comments, as generating each comment costs far more than it receives in upvotes. You clearly don't understand how this works. No one upvotes the comments anyways, only the logs. Cheetah costs hundreds of dollars per day to run. More comments is proportional to more copy paste on the site.
That's it.
Also, cheetah has been bleeding money for 2 years, costing more than she gets in income. What kind of "business" is that? I'll give you a hint: public service.
So anyone involved with @cheetah, please show me wrong by commenting on this post with arguments against my observations and reasoning rather than with flags.
You didn't even tag me, the creator, in this post. I only heard of this through the grapevine. How do you intend to get a response if you don't even bother doing any reading or investigation to something?
If you think something is wrong about the development of cheetah, I'm all ears, and you can help! Specifically:
- Give me your technical solution (I want to see pseudocode, or formal logic/proofs, or even better, a mock solution in python) to get better than 99.8% accuracy in saying something has some element of copy-paste.
- Donate your time to @steemcleaners and help us manage things.
I'll be eagerly awaiting your volunteered time.
Can you tell me what this means. I am working with a group of people helping new users, and I have never seen this thing about "tag me". How is that done, in layman/newbie speak, so I can forward what seems to be a very useful piece of information.
I am sure that the post was an honest attempt to understand what was going on with @cheetah, as he has seen some of what he called lying about upvotes. He obviously did not know there was a change or an issue with the code, thus his try to understand what was going on.

Sorry, I should have said "mention me". By that I mean include my name with the @ symbol in front: @anyx
I found it surprising they did not do this, as it seems they didn't even investigate who was the owner of the cheetah bot.
And it was unfortunate as I would have been able to see this post and respond easier, as I get a notification when someone does mention me. I might not respond to all mentions, but it's at least more likely to be brought to my attention.

Thank you, now all I need do is find the tool for mentions, I know @steemchiller is working on having it as part of his steemworld.org program which I use, so I will look around, now that I know there is something that does that for people. I know you are very busy so thank you for this. have a nice day.
