Here in Fort Collins, CO, I work in a program specifically for children with Autism. I have worked closely with over 40 children with Autism, and I can tell you they are not "sickly," they are with out a doubt some of the most amazing, genuine, often brilliant people on this Earth! They are specialist who know their preferred topics better than anyone! They teach me as much as I teach them. I often believe the kids I work with are secretly super heroes! To me, Autism is not the problem...the problem is society's conditioning and negative perspective on anything outside of what is deemed to be "normal." Just know, there are people out there (like me) who consider people with Autism some of their favorite people on Earth, and those who put it down are the ones missing out on the gifts people with Autism have to offer. 💙

As a father of a boy with Autism, and an uncle to another, thank you. As it was once pointed out to me shortly after my son's diagnosis, 'normal' is a setting on the washing machine.

Wow your comment is amazing thank you so much, it means more because you have a clue lol.
I agree with you both of my kids are unique amazing individuals that have amazing abilities for children of their age, they struggle in some areas but excel in others so far beyond others their ages it amazes.
Being an autism mum I know a lot of autistic people of a variety of ages, every single one has been phenomenal in one way or another.
To quote the great Temple Grandin
I believe in some ways autism could be an evolutionary movement, of our species we are yet to fully understand or appreciate.

🙌🏽 Temple Grandin taught at CSU here in Fort Collins. She's wonderful! There are many forms of communication, and I believe in promoting a voice for Autism because these folks have amazing focused fortes! Have you ever heard someone say, they may think you don't fit in, but I think you're the missing piece?
