But seriously? I thought i was doing the only responsible thing. Now he has downvoted my post? whats the point? Should i back out and stop reporting spam/plagiarism, which i frequently do, as i belive they are not good for the credibility, and the health of the platform?

I guess the money involved makes it personal. I hope they'll tire themselves out eventually.
