"Make sure you turn off the lights before you leave," my father often says. And being an electrician he means it.
Recounting how many times I've watched him pull off nylon sheathing with wire strippers and separate the bare, positive, and neutral wires; it becomes apparent why respecting those three copper wires is important. Because who has the patience to do it? Usually, the man telling you to "turn the lights off before you leave." Those men are often the ones guiding us through the dark before the lights turn on. So listening and following their direction after the lights go on is often an intelligent action. And often solves sustainability issues when followed consistently. However, should one abandon reason and choose to leave their lighting on; than at least some of us are prepared to light candles...
