A lot of academics just live in the weeds.

Thomas Sowell once said, "Socialism has a record of failure so pervasive that only an intellectual can evade it."

One of my favorite lines from Dennis Prager was a response to a couple of PETA activists comparing themselves to Jewish resistance fighters against the Nazis. "The foolishness of that statement runs so deep that I have to attribute it to higher education. You have to have gone to college to say something that stupid."

Complicating the obvious seems to be a skill that a great deal of college grads learn. That's a problem.

That's when you get people like Joseph J. Fischel basically writing a 300 page, pro-rape book while being employed at Yale. That's where you get the new racism of intersectionality. That's where you get bullshit like modern monetary theory. That's where we get heavily disproven gender theories that still has lungs, because we're complicating the obvious.

I once said that everything is simple until you get into the weeds. Once you emerge from the weeds on the other side, and look back, you often realize that it was really that simple to begin with.

A lot of academics just live in the weeds.
