The School

Well, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 had all these 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 out 🌵 🍃, 👁, because 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 figured that ... that was part of their 🎓, to 👁 how, 😀 know, the root systems ... and also the sense of responsibility, taking care of 🐘, 🅱️ individually responsible. 😀 know 😦 😀 😏. And the 🍃 all died. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 were 🍊 🍃. 😀 don’t know why 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 died, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 just died. Something wrong with the soil possibly or maybe the stuff 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 got from the nursery wasn’t the best. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 complained about it. 🆘 we’ve got thirty kids there, each kid had 👋 or her own little 🍃 to 🌵 and we’ve got these thirty 💀 🍃. All these kids 👁 at these little 🐴 sticks, it was depressing.

It wouldn’t 🈶 been 🆘 📉 except that just a 👰 of weeks before the 🐘 with the 🍃, the 🐍 all died. But 😀 🤔 that the 🐍 – well, the reason that the 🐍 kicked off was that ... 😀 remember, the boiler was shut off for 4️⃣ days because of the strike, and that was explicable. It was something 😀 could explain to the kids because of the strike. 😀 😏, none of their 👪 would let them cross the picket 〰️ and 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 knew there was a strike going 🔛 and 😦 it meant. 🆘 when 🐘 got started ☝ again and 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 found the 🐍 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 weren’t too disturbed.

With the 🌿 gardens it was probably a case of overwatering, and at least now 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 know not to overwater. The 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 were very conscientious with the 🌿 gardens and some of them probably ... 😀 know, slipped them a little extra 💧 when 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 weren’t 👁. Or maybe ... well, 😀 don’t 😄 to 🤔 about sabotage, although it did occur to us. 😀 😏, it was something that crossed our minds. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 were 🤔 that ↕️ probably because before that the gerbils had died, and the white mice had died, and the salamander ... well, now 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 know not to carry them around in plastic 🎒.

Of course 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 expected the 🌴 🐟 to ⚰, that was 😣 😮. Those 💯, 😀 👁 at them crooked and they’re belly-up 🔛 the surface. But the lesson plan called for a 🌴 🐟 ⌨ at that 🈯, there was 🈚 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 could do, it happens every year, 😀 just 🈶 to hurry past it.

👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 weren’t even supposed to 🈶 a 🐶.

👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 weren’t even supposed to 🈶 1️⃣, it was just a 🐶 the Murdoch 👶 found under a Gristede’s 🚚 1️⃣ day and 💁 was afraid the 🚚 would run over it when the driver had finished 🇲🇦 👋 delivery, 🆘 💁 stuck it in her knapsack and brought it to the 🎓 with her. 🆘 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 had this 🐶. As 🔜 as 😀 saw the 🐶 😀 thought, Oh ⛪, 😀 🎰 it will live for about ✌ weeks and then... And that’s 😦 it did. It wasn’t supposed to be in the 📔 at all, there’s some kind of regulation about it, but 😀 can’t tell them 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 can’t 🈶 a 🐶 when the 🐶 is already there, 👉 in front of them, 🏃‍♀️ around 🔛 the 🤣 and yap yap yapping. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 named it Edgar – that is, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 named it after me. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 had a lot of 💃 🏃‍♀️ after it and yelling, “Here, Edgar! Nice Edgar!” Then they’d 😄 😄 hell. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 enjoyed the ambiguity. 😀 enjoyed it myself. 😀 don’t mind 🅱️ kidded. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 made a little 🏘 for it in the supply closet and all that. 😀 don’t know 😦 it died of. Distemper, 😀 guess. It probably hadn’t had any 🥃. 😀 got it out of there before the kids got to 🎓. 😀 checked the supply closet each 🌞, routinely, because 😀 knew 😦 was going to happen. 😀 gave it to the custodian.

And then there was this Korean orphan that the class adopted through the 🆘 the 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 📺, all the kids brought in a quarter a 🈷️, that was the 💡. It was an unfortunate 🐘, the kid’s name was Kim and maybe 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 adopted him too 🕐 or something. The 🎗 of ⚰ was not stated in the ✉️ 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 got, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 suggested 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 adopt another 👶 instead and sent us some interesting case histories, but 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 didn’t 🈶 the 😍. The class took it pretty hard, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 began (😀 🤔, nobody ever said anything to me directly) to feel that maybe there was something wrong with the 🎓. But 😀 don’t 🤔 there’s anything wrong with the 🎓, particularly, I’ve seen better and I’ve seen worse. It was just a run of 📉 🐎. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 had an extraordinary 💯 of 👪 💯 away, for instance. There were 😀 🤔 ✌ 😍 👊 and ✌ suicides, 1️⃣ drowning, and 4️⃣ killed together in a 🚕 accident. 1️⃣ stroke. And 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 had the usual heavy mortality rate among the grandparents, or maybe it was heavier this year, it seemed 🆘. And finally the tragedy.

The tragedy occurred when Matthew Wein and Tony Mavrogordo were 🎽 over where they’re excavating for the 🆕 federal 🏢 👷‍♀️. There were all these big wooden beams stacked, 😀 know, at the edge of the excavation. There’s a 👩‍⚖️ case 🇨🇴 out of that, the 👪 👉 claiming that the beams were poorly stacked. 😀 don’t know what’s true and what’s not. It’s been a strange year.

😀 forgot to mention Billy Brandt’s 👨 who was knifed fatally when 💁‍♂️ grappled with a masked intruder in 👋 👪.

1️⃣ day, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 had a discussion in class. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 asked me, where did 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 go? The 🍃, the salamander, the 🌴 🐟, Edgar, the poppas and mommas, Matthew and Tony, where did 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 go? And 😀 said, 😀 don’t know, 😀 don’t know. And 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, who knows? and 😀 said, nobody knows. And 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, is ⚰ that which gives 😏 to life? And 😀 said 😣, life is that which gives 😏 to life. Then 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, but isn’t ⚰, considered as a fundamental datum, the 😏 by which the taken-for-granted mundanity of the everyday may be transcended in the ☝ of –

😀 said, 👍, maybe.
👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 don’t 😄 it.
😀 said, that’s 👂.
👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, it’s a shame!
😀 said, it is.

👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, will 😀 make 😍 now with Helen (our 🏫 assistant) 🆘 that 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 can 👁 how it is done? 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 know 😀 😄 Helen.
😀 do 😄 Helen but 😀 said that 😀 would not.
We’ve heard 🆘 much about it, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, but we’ve never seen it.
😀 said 😀 would be fired and that it was never, or almost never, done as a demonstration. Helen looked out the window.
👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 said, 🙏, 🙏 make 😍 with Helen, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 require an assertion of value, 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 👉 frightened.

😀 said that 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 shouldn’t be frightened (although 😀 👉 often frightened) and that there was value everywhere. Helen came and embraced me. 😀 kissed her a few ⌚ 🔛 the brow. 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 held each other. The 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 were excited. Then there was a knock 🔛 the 🔑, 😀 opened the 🔑, and the 🆕 gerbil walked in. The 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 cheered wildly.
