Tiger prawns, shrimp is for the people of Aceh known as prawns (Udeung Wat).


Tiger shrimp farming, in Aceh began in the early 1980s, and reached its peak in 1985-1995. So that in this period the tiger shrimp is the largest foreign exchange earner in fishery products. And until now in, but production had started a little menurutn. Due to factors of disease or pests.

Shrimp harvested due to the achievement of the harvest weight (normal crop) and because of disease (harvest emergency). Normal harvest is usually done at the age of approximately 120 days, with normal size average of 40 - 50. Average harvest of emergency do if shrimps malignant disease on a large scale (eg SEMBV / white spots). Because if not harvested soon, shrimp will run on / off.

Shrimp harvested with good quality requirements are large, hard skin, clean, smooth, shining, full body tools, is still alive and fresh. Catching shrimp at harvest can be done with a net stocking or drag nets and picked by hand. When the harvest was good that night or early morning, so that shrimp are not exposed to the hot sun so that the shrimp are dead do not quickly become red / damaged.
