Lake Laut Tawar is a lake in the Gayo Highlands, Takengon, Central Aceh is very wide and has a charming natural scenery. Wrapped in some mystical stories that people believe about for generations.
A Beautiful Water and Mainland Combination
Gayo tribe who inhabit the area, calling this lake as the Lake Laut Tawar. The lake has an area of about 5,472 hectares with a length of 17 km and a width of 3,219 km. You know why this lake is called by the sea? it turns out to have a calibaration of Lake Laut Tawar is called by the name of the Sea because the waters of this lake is very wide. So even with the name Tawar, because the water in this lake is fresh water. The existence of Lake Laut Tawar is very vital because apart from being a tourist spot that is often visited by tourists both domestic and foreign, also used as a source of water for Central Aceh District and several other districts in the vicinity
At this location you can see the activities of everyday people - farming and fishing. An activity that has become part of the daily life of people around the lake. Main commodities grown in the Gayo highlands include, among others, Gayo coffee (coffee arabica) which is very popular in Japan, potatoes, passion fruit, tomatoes, chili, corn, and vegetables. The most famous plantation commodities are Gayo tangerine and avocado.
