Through its teaching process, teacher can apply appropriate model of listening lesson according to students’ level. The purpose and the role of listening instructions in the English curriculum can be one of four different models namely: listening and repeating, listening and answering questions, task listening, and interactive listening. In the purpose of listening and repeating, students listen the pattern, repeating it, and sometimes memorizing it. In the second model, students listen the pattern and answering the questions which are related to the pattern. Through the third type, they listen the pattern, processing the information in the pattern and doing something or using listening input to complete the task related to the information received. By the last model, they participate in discussion activities to develop their listening, thinking, and effective speaking abilities which is suitable on the context (Gebhard, 2001 : 150).
