The teaching of listening(3)

There are some principles for teaching listening in the S/FL classroom for the beginning-level student. Increasing listening time must be done in the second language class. Creating the listening as the basic step for studying new lesson in the classroom, studying new lesson must be interesting, comprehensive, supported by extra linguistic material and directed to the language lesson. Using listening before other tasks, teacher may encourage them to listen to the material before speaking, reading, or writing toward given texts.
Medgyes (in Murcia, 2001; 92) Suggests teacher may select listening for one to three minutes in duration, involving short sentences, clear pronunciation, limited vocabulary, supplying new vocabulary and structure step by step, using class time wisely by giving short monologue in large classes that are often gotten in English, and focusing on structures or sounds in contrast such as you, Ewe, Due, and dew.
