Bungong Jeumpa is the pride of the people of Aceh. Outside of Aceh, this flower is known as Kantil Flower. Formerly Jeumpa grow wild on Earth Veranda of Mecca because Jeumpa is an endemic plant that thrives on its own without being planted first. The trees are tall and large able to support the branches and twigs with flowers that are quite a lot so that issued a distinctive fragrance in Aceh. Ironically, Jeumpa's growth is getting scarce, harder to find. Nothing wrong if many younger generations ask, "which Jeumpa flowers is it?"; "What's Jeumpa like?" In fact, jeumpa is more than just a beautiful flower because its existence has influenced many things in Aceh culture, ranging from traditional ceremony to carving on the building, jeumpa also give aesthetic value. 👉Jeumpa As Complement Tradition The Acehnese often use Jeumpa for various purposes. The color is interesting; yellow, green, and reddish are the reasons other than as required based on the distinctive aroma and no other interest. In the Acehnese tradition, Jeumpa is the symbol of beauty. We often get Jeumpa made part of the completeness of the traditional ceremony because of its fragrance. In the marriage ceremony, Jeumpa buds are made into the head of a baroque (bride). As changes in the period in which Jempa increasingly difficult to find, then the position of Jempa replaced by jasmine buds.
Selain itu Jeumpa juga dijadikan campuran pada air di dalam mundam dalam upacara manoe pucok, tradisi memandikan mempelai perempuan menjelang hari ijab-kabul pernikahannya. Kelopak-kelopak Jeumpa dilepaskan dari tangkainya dicampurkan dengan aneka bunga berwarna-warni lainnya ke dalam mundam. Khususnya di Aceh Selatan, Jeumpa dijadikan bahan campuran wewangian untuk prosesi mandi balimau menjelang Ramadhan dan Hari Raya Ied baik Idul Fitri maupun Idul Adha, Bagi masyarakat Aneuk Jamee, mandi balimau dianggap sangat penting untuk menyambut hari-hari istimewa itu. Tradisi ini telah ada sejak masyarakat belum mengenal shampoo. Mandi Balimau diartikan sebagai prosesi mandi wajib untik membersihkan diri dari hadas besar dan kecil untuk melaksanakan ibadah. Dalam hal itu, mereka keramas dengan menggunakan campuran limau kaco (jeruk limau kasturi seukuran ujung jempol) ditambahkan dengan kelopak Jeumpa yang telah mekar.
Lain dari itu, Jeumpa dijadikan campuran wewangian air untuk ziarah makam. Dalam tradisi masyarakat Aceh, ziarah makam diikuti dengan menyiram makam sebanyak tiga kali dari ujung kepala ke ujung kaki dengan menggunakan air yang telah dicampurkan dengan bunga-bunga yang harum, salah satunya adalah Jeumpa, ditambahkan mawar, melati, seulanga, dan bunga lainnya yang tersedia
