Six villages in Tamiang Hulu Sub-district, Aceh Tamiang District, experienced flash floods, due to rainfall exceeding the normal threshold in the area.
The Head of Search and Recue (SAR) of Aceh Tamiang, Syaful Syahputra said that the affected villages are Bandar Khalifah, Rongoh, Dusun Lubuk, Kampung Tempel, Alur Tani, Perkebunan.
"All the people we have evacuated to a higher and safer place," he said in Kualasimpang, Monday (04/12/2017).
SAR team continues to evacuate to the community, so no casualties. SAR also continues to coordinate with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) together to evacuate affected people.
Syaiful said on Saturday 2 December at 21:15 pm there has been a flash flood at six points, when the SAR Chairman immediately reported and coordinated with Kapos Basarnas Pos SAR Langsa Suhengki to get down to the crime scene to evacuate the victims of banjir bandang.
The team was directly led by the Head of Aceh SAR Task Force Syaiful Syahputra down to the location. There were no casualties in the banjir bandang disaster, the average water level of 1.5 to 2 meters in six villages affected by flash floods.
The joint team consisting of Aceh Tamiang SAR Task Force, Basarnas Pos SAR Langsa, BPBD Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang, TNI and Polri as well as local community elements continue to evacuate the community.
"Until Sunday (3/12) at 08.00 am the water discharge in 6 villages has started to recede slowly, SAR only has limited tools, as well, we have to work professionally with the tools of awe," said Sayiful who called Wak Keng.
