Toyota is known as a car manufacturer that has created various types of cars and selling in the market. But, before known by the name of Toyota, this Japanese company named Toyoda.
Toyoda is the surname of the founder, Sakichi Toyoda, where the first vehicle produced was sold using the Toyoda emblem.
In 1900, Sakichi Toyoda made the machine to make it easier to complete the task of weaving yarn into fabric.
At that time the manufacturer who had known Toyota as a car factory, in fact pioneered from the weaving company until 1930.
Around the 1900s, when Toyoda would be written with kanji, the last two letters 'Da' and 'Ta' had similarities.
However, when using the name Toyoda there are 10 brush strokes, while Toyota only 8 scratches. There is a belief that the number 8 is a lucky number, so Toyota was chosen.
Until finally in 1936, the family company held a competition for a new logo. Of the 27,000 designs that enter, some participants are pronouncing Toyoda's name to Toyota.
There is even a logo with a kanji glance that read "teq" which is then interpreted as a technology.
The first car produced by Toyota is the AA model, which was marketed in 1937. But in this model still use the name Toyoda. In addition to passenger cars, Toyoda had a truck called G1 Truck
