good morning aceh community wherever you are may we are healthy always and given long life amin... this time a little discussion about the animals that increasingly extinct day.
here I am talking about the yellow cempala bird.
Cempala Kuneng or its Latin name Copsychus pyrropygus is one of the pride of the people of Aceh. In the heyday of the Kingdom of Aceh under Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607 -1636), Cempala Kuneng has been known and mentioned in various saga of Aceh.
Because of his fame the bird is also used as Fauna Identity of Aceh Province. This beautiful bird is easily known for its kinship with Mermaid Stone.
Although it does not have a long tail like the Monster Stone, the beauty of this bird is shown by its shiny dark gray-brown color with the distinctive features of a white eyebrow above the eyes, as well as a sharp slim black beak.
Some of the chest and stomach to the base of the tail and back are reddish yellow, while the tip of the tail is black with white edges on the bottom.
Cempala kuneng inhabit forests that have many basins or valleys to a height of 900 meters above sea level. This bird's main habitat is the Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL).
This bird is not only present in Aceh, but also can be found in Sumatra generally, Kalimantan and Peninsular Malaysia. Unlike the stone Murai that tends to eat insects, Cempala Kuneng is a bird that eats whole grains. The Cempala Kuneng population in Aceh is now very rare and has entered the Appendix list as a fauna that must be protected.
Thanks...
