Tachinids fly on their characteristic wings using only a pair of thin wings whose function is to fly.

While the other pair is only as a stabilizer auxiliary or as an air velocity detector, Although many insects can fly, but only tachinid fly is regarded as a true fly because of its nature.

Tachinid flies have large eyes when compared with their bodies. Antenna can be short or long.

Usually live by sucking blood, plant extracts, pollination aid, or from the corpses of living things.
