This mosque was built by Harun Keuchik Leumiek's family in Lamseupeung village, Banda Aceh City. He is an Acehnese historian.
The relief and style of this mosque is a blend of Middle Eastern, Moorish and Cordova styles, as well as a touch of the style of the Prophet's Mosque.
Reliefs and calligraphy with gold nuances adorn every corner of the mosque. At night the beauty of this mosque can be seen from the direction of the Beurawe-Simpang Surabaya bridge.
The reflection of the lights and the shadow of the mosque building can be seen faintly in the flow of the river that divides the city of Banda Aceh. The tower and some of the domes of this mosque also attract the attention of road users who pass over the Simpang Surabaya flyover.
The laying of the first stone for the construction of this mosque was carried out by the Grand Imam of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh, Prof. Dr. Azman Ismail MA, together with the Mayor of Banda Aceh (at that time) Hj Illiza Saa'duddin Djamal, the keuchik and the village imam, as well as the family of Haji Keuchik Leumik, on July 10, 2016.
Through family deliberation, it was agreed that the mosque was named H Keuchik Leumiek, a name that was inscribed from his father who had started the gold business and famous souvenirs in the Veranda of Mecca.
