Heatwave and other photos

This last weekend I was out of the city enjoying time the east coast of England to celebrate a friends 40th birthday. Unsurprisingly, this involved visiting a few pubs, but not the two below though - they are here, the first one especailly, so i can use the #sportstalk tag. Final Whistle, get it?

IMG_1285.JPG

That's not true actually, as I'm cramming today's actifit goings on in here too - those are 'valid' #sportstalk posts, but it's better if you post a bit more than just the report isn't it?

The Final Whistle isn't actually football or sports related, as you can see by the next photo.

The pub is built around an old train line and has the transport theme throughout. And the next pub also relates to getting around, which isn't that surprising as it is built alongside Nottingham canal.

And one of the many locks along the canal.

You don't see to many phone boxes like this any more, and a nice royal red postbox to match.

Back to the weekend away, which would have scored great on actifit (except I forgot my wristband) as we spent a lot of time doing this:

England has it's perks, and walking through fields like these is one of them.

IMG_1317.JPG

And today (and only for today I bet), the country was in meltdown as temperatures soared into the mid to late 30's!

Only one thing for that, liquid refreshment :)

I did thank you! Glad you are enjoying the sunshine too :)

HAhahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahhaha.

:OD

Will look in the morning if its not updated sharpish!

done and you'll be through it sharpish!

Cor, that was quick! Good pics. I love that corn field! and of course. getting the beers in, hurrah!

It was a beauty! I have about 10 photos of the field and a few at the pub and that's about it!

I do things like that all the time. I keep thinking, must take photos then get obsessed by one bit, Lol!

I just forget to take them. And now I remember there are a bunch in our whatsapp group. Oh well!

You don't see too many phoneboxes like this any more, and a nice royal red phonebox to match.

A red mailbox to match, right?

36°C is normal in the summer though.

Yes 😳 I'll change that soon!

36 isn't normal here - 25 would be a good summers day. The climate is doing weird stuff!

25 is spring temperature 😁

My sister-in-law has been sending me screenshots of the temperature over there. It did make me think how nice it would be outside of a British pub with a nice cold pint period I do miss an English summer comma but 36 degrees is crazy. I remember we had a party one night and it didn't drop below 28 degrees one night period we knew it was really warm but didn't realise just how warm when we saw the weather the next day

England is great when it's hot, but that is just not the case often enough for me! 4/5 months of 20-25 degrees, is it too much to ask? :)

Do you also want the moon on a stick? He he. Wouldn't that be a PERFECT world? I do relish gloating to English friends about looonnnnngggg warm summers.... xxx Hope you are keeping cool. At least you have a new PM! 😂😂😝😝🤔🤔

Not bad for feeling your sneakers probably melt below you!

At the pace I run/walk, I don't think so :D

You can do better Asher and you know it! 🙀
The heat indeed is killing. It is around 29 degrees is the bedroom still I manage to bag almost 4 hours of sleep!
It is crazy. When I came back from the pub just after midnight it was still 27 degrees outside. Not something you would expect in Belgium.
Today we will face another 39 degrees!
I am fed up with it 😔

With the post or the exercise, or both?! :)

It's much cooler today here, I hope it cools a little for you too as sleeping right now is tough!

Exercise. No complaint about the post! A more than decent actifit post, content wise I mean :)! Much better than the one I write.

Fields like that on 36 degree days in Australia would often turn up some snakes to contend with...Deadly ones most often so are usually avoided. Also the farmer would probably take offence to random walkers and break out the shot gun!

We love the UK countryside and walking around it is awesome...So is hanging out at a pub enjoying a coldie.

Looks like a good day all round.

I guess that is one benefit to the UK - nothing that can kill you whilst having a walk in the country :)

We presumed the track was for everyone, and the birthday boy wanted to walk it so we could always have stuck him in the firing line!

Cheers :)

Throw the lad in harms way...Legit! 😂

All the pictures are awesome, but I especially adore the telephone booth & mailbox - typically blue here across the pond, but equally as scarce these day. Hope you enjoyed your liquid refreshment! 🍻

Thank you Traci, I did indeed enjoy the beverage.

It's unusual to see the boxes so well kept, this village is a rather posh one and they know what they like - olde England :)

Coolness!

And that makes sense - if I had money, and lived in a posh place, I'd probably do the same. I grew up in a village that was a former destination for rich folks in the early 1900s - it used to be nicknamed, "Little New York" because all the NYC peeps with money would summer there. I can think of a number of things there I wish I could throw money at. 😜

Yeah yeah...
Cold Liquid refreshment is the key.
Nice shoots.
Keep being active 👍

Thanks, same to you :)

A long journey and can enjoy various buildings and plantation land @abh12345
