The Hidden Path To Our Spot - My Actifit Report Card: September 22 2019

Adjusting ever so little each day to our new place of living, simple things like the path we discovered to the beach Jerry loves at Portage Park helps by getting us away from the busy Esquimalt streets.

It’s nothing too special but it is quiet and through the little forest left in the area.

Looks as if this is the third rebuild of this stairway with an old rock one to the right and cement foundation of its replacement to the left... the new one is definitely built with public safety in mind.

This is obviously one of the sketchy areas people talk about being afraid of, I call it needle tunnel. Jerry was not so interested in going through for good reason so we took the path up and over the railroad tracks.

I imagine this path to be part of the original walkway before the Goose Bike Path was put it making for a safer travels.... just down The Goose from here is where a large amount of the attacks have happened... less fortunate types congregate in that area so no night walks for Mel and no pulling my phone out for me!

Not a single sign from the road marking Portage Park and no parking lot even but every access from The Goose is marked with a sign stating public access.

The destination I believe to be well worth the walk, such a beautiful spot! To the right housing and to the left an area which looks like a failed development project only the trails bring you to the beach which means I have only 3 access points to watch while Jerry runs around off leash. I have only seen other dog owners here, most being older couples doing the exact thing as I.... just trying to find peace of mind.

To bad the day wasn’t finished there, I could so call it a day after a pleasant walk like that 😝

Cleaned dishes and headed off to work, not that I really want to go or anything after giving my notice 🤦‍♂️

I feel a lot better at work but less enthusiastic about doing anything, at this point why bother I’m only giving notice for the sake of the team not getting completely hung. I spent the day dividing dough and walking as little as possible, getting myself water when needed and of all things talking with people the thing which has driven me nuts about my coworkers for years... my turn bitches!

After work was a quick walk with Jerry and big fat roach doobie... 11 days and counting till I’m done with my longest most stressful employment I have ever held... 8 years and it seemingly broke my desire to be a baker with my next job being a warehouse type receiving job...

I tell you one thing I’m not eating anymore of my managers BS.... lol I’m likely to walk off the job say he tries to dump on me again... ohh how I would like to give him a piece of my mind but will it make a difference? Most likely not as he would have to listen first which is not his way... he lets you talk but does not actually listen!

I will be the better man this time around unless I am seriously provoked 😎
