I got a late start this morning because I was up late last night working with my niece on our gingerbread house project. I’ve mentioned in a few previous posts that I’be been scouting for ingredients on some of my morning walks, last night we did a trial run of a small batch of gingerbread and icing and built a simple house so that we could learn a bit about the process which will inform some of our decisions on the more elaborate final house we have planned.
After we finished we wound down by doing some battles in Pokémon Go, one of which rewarded us with a Sinnoh Stone. So when I took my walk this morning I decided to evolve a Roselia to Roserade. Unfortunately she’s just above the CP cap for Ultra League fights. Woops! I suppose the PvP league “weight classes” will be a factor in deciding which pokemon I should evolve, it’s not necessarily a straightforward question of best IVs and highest level anymore.
I took a shorter walk than normal today, just to Maurie Jacobs Park and then back home, to try to get back on track from the late start. From a fitness perspective it’s probably not the best idea to sacrifice sleep and exercise for baking, but at least with a gingerbread house the completed product is more about showing it off than consuming a lot of calories. While I was out on my poke-walk I did also remember to check to see if the second move you can now unlock for your pokemon can be used in gym battles, and it looks like they can, which is pretty cool.
Looks like a pretty good trial run for your gingerbread house! A worthy project for you and your niece. Nice activity for the day too.
