Not sure why my active hours show zero.
Hi everybody!
I started the morning out by sleeping in! Saturday is my ‘sleep recharge’ morning, so I took advantage of it. We had plans to hike with Jan around noon, so I had the time. The day was brilliantly sunny! You could not have had a more perfect day for hiking than today was. It was just cool enough to keep you in long sleeves, but the sunshine was glorious!
I even found some new ‘shrooms to photograph, which I’ll share over the next few posts.
The underbelly of a giant mushroom!
After hiking, it was coffee time! . Then began the task of getting the dryer put back together. We have this awesome 110V clothes dryer that I really love. It is so much gentler on your clothing, so less lint means more fabric stays with your clothes. It’s cheaper to run than the standard dryers, plus it will run on solar power as well. Unfortunately, one of the belts broke, but we were able to find it online and had the new one within a couple of days. Once we got it put back together, then it was time to remount it on the wall.
Once that was accomplished, it was off to look for some new hiking boots for me. My birthday is in a couple of weeks, but I needed my boots now as the ones I’ve been wearing are NOT waterproof anymore no matter how much SnoPruf you put on them! So I wanted new ones as my birthday present. I found an awesome pair and since the store we frequent for hikers got rid of the incline to test shoes for downhill hiking, one of the employees allowed me to use some weights they had to try to mimic downhill hiking. Not perfect, but it accomplished what I needed to know. Ironically, Mike got himself a second pair of hikers for himself for a present for himself, too.
Me trying to figure out if these were going to work for descending the hills. I did end up buying these.
I’ll soon be ready for bed; we have a new trainee for the sound system at church tomorrow, so it’s another early morning.

Well, that’s if for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful @actifit day!
Awesome new hiking shoes! I use my running shoes, but have been looking into proper GoreTex hiking shoes, as the hiking is causing unnecessary wear on my running shoes. By the was, the mushroom picture is awesome! Take care!

Thank you @wnchebakken! I did my first hike in them today and they're pretty good; a bit stiff, but that's the newness factor.😉
