Today we were heading to another peak outside Narvik. The mountain is called Rånkeipen, 1200 m. The trail start at sealevel and is around 6,5 km one way. With a couple of brakes the hike up take about4 hours. Above the treeline we had panorama view to the surroundings.

They are all postcard worthy pictures, but my favourite is the sixth one down with the sun and the rock, the shape of the sun is amazing. I also love the reindeer, they are beautiful, and Nero of course!

Thank you.

I'm sure you all had to enjoy such a beautiful trip. Your photos are awesome.

Thank you @hairyfairy, it was a great hike :-)

what a wonderful trip you are taking. I just had a look back on some of your older posts too.

I see you are here on steemit a few months now, just had a look around your account. I know when people start here they get a few welcome messages, but after that, if you have not joined a community you can easily get lost in the sea of posts. How are you getting on here on steemit anyway?

I’m doing a little bit of outreach this week with those that have been here a few weeks and have had some time to get a feel for the place. Would love to know your thoughts so far? Is there anything I can help you with or questions I can answer for you?

One tip I am spreading this week is to check your mentions. being part of steemit includes engagement and if someone happens to mention you in a post, you should really check it out. You can find your mentions on https://steemworld.org/@harkar, if you look through the tabs, you will find all your mentions.

Thank you for visit and checking out my posts. So far I like Steemit very well. I try to connect to others and respond to comment. It was a good tips to check out mentions in steemworld. I see now that I have missed some, thanks for that. With some people I think I have mutual interest and following, others are more random (probably I am too sometimes), but I have only positive expirences so far. You mentioned community, that is an area I do not have any knowledge about. If you can put me in any direction regarding to that I will appreciate it. What types of communities exist? Is there communties in different interest or...? And yes there is a sea of post and it is difficult to catch the ones that is in my area of interest :-) As you probably have discovered, I do not write very good English, but hope it is understandable and you do not misunderstand my clumsiness.

Your English is very good and easy to understand, you should have a little more confidence.

There are many many communities around steemit, but as I only speak English, I am only familiar with the English speaking ones. There are ones based on regions and on subject interests and ones just to help you grow on steemit. One way to find them is on posts. A lot of people will ad a banner image of a community they are in at the bottom of their posts.

to start I would suggest you search the topics of interest. For example if your interests were art, I would suggest searching the #art tag and looking at the bottom of the posts for communities. I am nearly sure there is also a community around actifit, although that is also probably in english.

If you are happy to engage in english speaking communities, I can get you some links for different communities?

Thank you very much to the engagement and tips. If you have som links to communities I will appreciate it. A fun thing with Steemit is learning to write in english.. :-)

awesome, well I would suggest you start with Minnowsupport and their PAL discord server. https://discord.gg/HYj4yvw. If you introduce your self in general someone will guide you through the stuff they do. But they do a lot, from radio shows to contents. To really gain from a community to have to engage with them, Joining there discord server and then not chatting or engaging wont get to to far. You can find out more about them here on their website http://minnowsupportproject.org/about/

if you are interested in improving your overall engagement here on steemit, i would suggest you have a look at @abh12345 Engagement league. this post gets a lot of attention and many of the top engagers from steemit hang out on this post when it is published. Great place to mingle and get your name seen
https://steemit.com/engagement/@abh12345/6fhokz-the-curation-and-engagement-leagues-steem-prizes-and-steem-bounty-available

take a look at them and see how you get on, and if you have any questions just head over to any of my posts and leave a comment and i will do my best to help you :-)

Thanks a lot for great tips @paulag

Beautiful area, I love reindeer , they look like really from film set, and it is already feels like Christmas. Also Your dog is really full of energy, he enjoys hiking a lot :)

You better watch out you better not cry...I telling you why... maybe they show up next christmas :-)

Beautiful pictures @harkar. They now have the Actifit for iOS so I downloaded it and will start tracking my steps. I am sure I will not have anywhere close to what you have but will see at the end of the month.

Try it. It can be motivating to use it for some activities and walking. Here is a link to a tutorial video about Actifit worth seeing if you don't already have. https://steempeak.com/utopian-io/@buckydurddle/actifit-fitness-tracker-video-tutorial
