Literally everything hurts right now. I stayed up way too late last night but finished the first draft of chapter 14. 😀
And I had to do a ton of walking after work because we've been stuck in the house for three days due to the cold. And I wanted to get my new glasses.
So far the tally is 21 people. 21 people who died from the cold, mostly homeless people. That's fucking outrageous. There is absolutely no reason a first world country should be allowing this. When politicians care more about their paycheck then the lowest of their people, things have gone too far.
Sorry, but coming from our background it absolutely disgusting. I've seen first hand the attitude of every day people toward the homeless. We were treated like people who are "less than" others.
Unacceptable.
Demand change. Don't ask for it.
A woman in Chicago paid for 20 rooms at a hotel with her credit card, and then a bunch of people joined in and total they gave 60 rooms for three days to some folks, which is awesome ...and also tragic that individuals needed to do that in the first place. Housing is a right, or it should be. <3
