The last 24 hours have been pretty stressful. Last night the mayor and fire cheifs issued some pretty dire warnings for Coffs and the surrounding areas. We had bags packed and spent the day ready to evacuate if need be.
In the end, the fire we were most at risk from didn't run as far as predicted. The picture above shows the path the biggest and most dangerous fire in the area was predicted to travel today. It ended up hitting Nana Glen to our North East, but not coming much further. Some towns nearby were evacuated, but greater Coffs was spared for now.
I ended up going to work, (I only work 5 minutes from home and was ready to leave at a moments notice) and clocked up a decent Actifit tally. More than half our staff did not come in, but we were really quiet, it seemed like most people had more important things to worry about than shopping.
I'll set the computer back up tomorrow morning and hopefully get back to normal and be back in my tribes and get back to business.
Thanks everyone for the concern and well wishes. Being prepared took a lot of the stress out of the day. There are plenty of fire emergency warnings still ongoing around NSW and other parts of the country.
If you are still in a high risk area, stay safe.
Cheers,
JK.

Glad things are okay so far and hope it stays that way.
