My Actifit Report Card: May 15 2019

in actifit •  6 years ago

It was a bit rainy later this afternoon and nice in the morning. I mowed the lawn in the early afternoon.

By the time I was done it was just starting to drizzle just a little bit but I went a ride anyway. I figured that even if it rained harder the fenders would keep most of the rain off me. As it turned out it never rained hard enough to cause any problems.

I went for about ten miles through some nice country roads just for fun. Being able to stop anywhere and take pictures is a nice thing about bike riding. The two photos below I took from the side of the road.

It is really nice to be able to hear all the bird noises. There were several hummingbirds flying around and some chickens and other wild birds making noises too.

You can really smell a lot more things while out riding your bike too. When it is just starting to rain it seems like the smells are very nice.

Here's a picture of one of the lakes around here with some hills in the background:

I figured out how to set my ebike to go a bit faster. It is a very easy adjustment to set the control to max out at 40 kph. This translates into about a 25 mph motor assisted top speed. This is a bit more acceptable than 20 mph but I remember in the old days having a 30 mph top speed on a gas powered moped. I guess your not supposed to go as fast if your pedaling and using electrons.

Excellent photography and very nice shot....
Thanks for share...

You are really in a good place, lots of greenery and there's even a lake @lightsplasher and the weather is good too which makes outdoor activities like gardening and walking (or riding an ebike) more fun and enjoyable :D

I really like it here. It is nice for the things that I enjoy doing. There are many other places that I have enjoyed visiting and living at too.

Great pictures I must say. It seems we've got rain all over the place, almost every report I've read in all regions of the world has reports of rain. Nice to hear you've found a way of making the ebike go faster, hope you can control it always. Cheers.

The rain sure keeps things nice and green around here. Just that little extra boost of speed will be nice. Got to keep the shiny side up though, lol. :D

Looks like a lovely place to be. It is nice that you can get there parts exertion and part electric. We got rain here today too but it came late and we were able to do most of walking around and stay dry. There was even some sun:)

Sounds like very similar weather to what we had here. There are a lot of advantages to the ebike for sure. You really could ride around on just the motor as long as the hills were not too steep but pedaling helps a lot.

what a beautiful area and such nice views your sure making good use of your eBike

@lightsplasher, When there is very lite rain then in my opinion we can enjoy that moment because lite rain makes the environment very pleasant.

One point really touched me and that is, you've enjoyed the bike ride and stopped wherever you want to capture some beautiful pictures. Yes, we should do those good things which make us happy. Stay blessed.

It is wonderful to have the time to able to do these things as well. I do feel blessed.

Yes this exploration is like a blessing for sure.

At least your day was fun not as bored as mine sitting home all day long

@lightsplasher you really have some beautiful scenery to tour around in. That ebike has been quite beneficial for you, I'm glad you went ahead and purchased it. I've been watching some youtubes about disc golf, I'm getting more and more interested in trying it!

I hope you do try out the disc golf. I find it to be a very nice exercise that is challenging yet pretty easy to get started doing.

@lightsplasher We saw a group playing disc golf yesterday at the park in Pana when we were with the grandkids. They had some kind of wheeled cart that they carried several discs on, I've never seen anyone at our disc golf course in Vandalia, so that'll be a good place to practice and not take a chance on hitting anyone.

I usually carry around a bag with about eleven discs in it. When I go by ebike I have been cutting that down to three discs. I'll bet it is nice to have a cart with more of them but I don't need that at the level that I play at.

Sometimes if there are too many people in the area I try to be very careful and not take risky throws. There was a big group of kids having a birthday party near one of the baskets today and my son and I decided to skip that one. We weren't keeping score and didn't want to run the risk of hitting anyone.

Have you managed to get some starter discs yet to practice with?

I looked yesterday at our local WalMart and they didn't have them. I guess I'll need to order them online. Do you have any recommendations for a good brand or specific thing to look for?

Wow that has to feel pretty fast on that I would think. Faster than on a bike going downhill I would think. That is honestly a cool bike!

I does feel fast and the tires and suspension make riding fast feel in control. It handles nice in the turns. There are some narrow roundabouts around here that I'm a bit worried about people trying to pass me in but this ebike lets me get through them a lot faster and keep up better with the traffic.

Excellent review @lightsplasher and you're right, riding a bike in such beautiful places is a pleasure!
