I honestly don't understand why people are so upset about this decision, I think it is great and here is why. AFIT token price is being slammed with the down turn on cryptos (especially steem) so we are all loosing money right now, regardless of the upvote bot situation. It blows my mind that some people seem to forget this platform is about health, not about big upvotes!?! So if that is the only reason you are here then I doubt you'll be here long anyhow and your opinion doesn't matter to me. For those of you who love @actifit, let me explain why this is good.
Making a 10k barrier to receive upvotes from @actifit helps all @actifit token holders because it will create Demand for the AFIT token which will drive the price up. Many new users are below that threshold so it will entice them to buy more tokens to participate in the big upvotes.
Right now everyone has a ton of tokens with nothing much to do with them so they are selling them for cheaper and cheaper on the market (driving the price further and further down) trying to get whatever they can for them because there is no big benefit to hold them besides for rank and speculation purposes.
However, with this new rule now people will have a reason to hold them, not just sell them for whatever they can get on steem-engine. It will also stop a lot of the spammers (and cheaters) who are just using actifit for the big upvote, not for the real reason it was created, for a community focused on health. So I honestly don't know why anyone would complain about this new rule, it benefits us all.
I went over to steem-engine quick and checked the price for 10k AFIT and its only 39 steem or $6.63 cents USD! If you have been on steemit or actifit for any real amount of time then you should be able to afford the 39 steem or already have the 10k AFIT tokens, if not it shouldn't be to much to buy in and hit that mark. Or if you really want the big upvotes now then cough up the $ and buy it from the start, the investment will pay itself off quickly. That's 3 options, pick one or shut up!
If people truly enjoy the @actifit platform (and aren't just gaming it for upvotes) then they should be willing to invest that small amount of money to participate in the extra upvoting. This new rule doesn't stop anyone from participating in actifit which already pays people, sorry if you think you deserve more even though you haven't put in the time, money or effort (like everyone else did) for a bigger upvote, any of which will get you there!.
People need to stop complaining about why this rule might suck for them personally and look at the big picture and how it will ultimately help us all!
Ok, so new members join then what raise it to 50k Afit,100k Afit what exactly people have legitimate concerns. Also, it is $6.63 cents currently what happens if it's worth alot more say $100 or more for example in time for new members? No this is too much short term thinking and trying to force the price up.

So buy in now before its to late and the price goes way up! LoL. I find it funny that you are worried about the price going to high?? if your holding tokens then you want the price to sky rocket, thats the point of it all!!
Stop worrying about everyone else and the future issues, stop looking for problems and start looking for solutions.. Things will always continuously change as they go, that is the beauty of the blockchain.
I feel like you are rather new to the whole crypto scene (at least the steem blockchain) so you need to understand that this is how things work. As the price per token rises the amount of tokens needed to get the upvote will drop, along with the amount of tokens for entry or there will be a new better system created. Everything is a working progress my friend. You have decide what you think is worth investing in and then do it, not everything will be a winner.. Thats life ;) Good luck.
