I had some weird hours to work today. 11 am to 6pm. Not sure why it was like that, but as long as I can still have the evening off is fine by me. Clouds had been threatening rain all day. When it finally did rain, it lasted a whole 30 seconds and then went away. On the plus side, it was much cooler and made for a good running temperature.

I thought about doing an easy run today and then interval tomorrow since I have the day off, but I wanted to try that tonight. My goal was to hit and maintain 4:20 per km for 800m and then slow down my pace to about 4:40-4:50 for the next 200m and repeat. I figured this would help shave a little time and the slower pace would make for a good little recovery instead of walking. I managed to hold it decently for the first 2km (not hitting a 4:20/km time for the km as I slowed down for the last 200m) but after that I was slowing down a bit noticeably.

Here are my overall stats for this run. When I hit the 4km mark, my legs were done. I could not run anymore after that and walked the rest of the way back home.

and here are my times that I got for each km. I'm not sure what happened in km 3 as I felt like I was a lot more sluggish. It was pretty close to my 4:27 best though. Just 4 seconds more or if I had ran the same pace the last 200m I'm sure I could have lowered it some.

I'm not too sure what I'll do tomorrow. It will really just depend on how my legs end up feeling. As for tonight, my legs were dead and exhausted. Much like that one day where I had to lay down for an hour. While not that bad, I was still down for 30 minutes. I might just make tomorrow a pure rest day with no running.
