Getting into fitness has been my priority from past few months. Especially with the holidays coming up – it’s time for a change and to get the perfect body ready.
I recently discovered Actifit by Merlin and I’m Impressed !!!! Actifit a high-performance activity tracker that continuously tracks your body activity and delivers real-time stats on demand ( it looks just like your ordinary watch but much cooler).
So here is a breakdown of what ActiFit tracks:
Steps
Distance traveled
Calories burned
Sleep cycle
Along with these above it also let’s me tracks my sleep cycle at night for improving my sleep and waking up at my best in the morning.
The top and the main part of the device need to be removed and one end of the device is like a USB flash drive pin. Removing the top part is a task and good pressure has to be applied. Sometimes, I feared that the hook which connects the top part to the strap will break but it is sturdy.
The sport home screen of the app shows how many steps taken, calories burnt, activity time, distance covered and also in a line-graph form.
WIRELESS SYNCING: ActiFit syncs stats automatically and wirelessly to your smartphone – both iPhone and Android – giving you on demand access to real-time stats. The included Zeroner app shows you all your stats in graphical and user-friendly format, keeping you updated on your fitness goals.
SOCIAL ALERTS: Stay connected throughout the day with Caller ID and message alerts. The free app pushes all your Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Skype, and message notifications right to your ActiFit wristband, helping you stay in touch with your social world.
ActiFit wakes you up silently to a beautiful morning with vibrating alarms. A quick wrist motion shows you the time of the day.
It has a GPS function with a stopwatch feature to track your walking, cycling or running. It is an interesting feature which I liked. It shows the distance covered maximum speed of walking or cycling, calories burnt during the workout, average speed in minutes per hour and kilometres per hour.
Charging the device to the full takes almost half an hour the battery lasts close to five days, which is pretty good. It is priced at Dh195.
Overall: I’m impressed with the product and would make a perfect addition to your fitness gadget. The value for money is just perfect for this market and product with features likes touch-screen OLED display. Not to forget it is very lightweight and syncs perfectly with my iphone with good battery life.
Downside: Considering it would sit perfectly on my wrist – it doesn’t come with heart rate sensor including its non syncable feather with other apps.
