This beast of a moth (for England at least) just sat here all day long, not perturbed by anything. Do you know what sort of moth it is? It looks strong yet fragile simultaneously. A marvel of nature!

It is a sphinx moth. There are many species of these huge moths and I think this is Modest (Pachysphyinx modesta). Good for you that saw one. I am lucky if I see one sphinx moth per year. Great capture of those amazing wings. Thanks for using #insectpub and #butterflyday tag @nutman. : )
