I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a look into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. A short session that I enjoyed. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me stop by the city centre for some errands. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's get into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going; otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, let's start in the US, where a meeting between house speaker, Kevin McCarthy has held a meeting with visiting Taiwan president. This has angered China who see it as a provocation and a violation of the one China principle 😹.
Still in the US, Johnson and Johnson company has given an $8 billion offer to settle long standing lawsuits. The talc baby powder it produces has been linked to cancer 🙀. Scary.
Down in Peru, president Dina Boluarte has survived an impeachment bid over handling of anti govt protests in December.
Across the pond in Europe, the husband of former Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested as part of campaign finance investigation🙀.
Elsewhere president Zelensky stopped by in Warsaw Poland for the first time since the war broke out. He was awarded the highest civilian honor 🎊.
Trending in the middle east, Israeli forces stormed Al Aqsa mosque and fired stun grenades during Ramadan prayers🙀. Rockets were later fired into Israel from Gaza.
Finally, let's finish in china where French president Macron is in China for a three day visit. He will be meeting his counterpart Xi Jing ping. Let's hope a breakthrough for Ukraine can come through💯.
