Hello everyone π»,
Happy hump πͺ day and a very warm welcome to my report. We are bang in the middle of the week on this last day of June. Hope everyone is doing great.
As always thank you for stopping by and let's go ahead and look at how my day went including the stories that caught my eye π.Here we go again π¨.
So just like yesterday, I had a short morning walk around the neighborhood ending up at the groceries. The sun π was out on yet another beautiful day.
Then I was back indoors handling the usual house chores.
Later in the day, I kept up with all the trending stories and watched some YouTube and checked twitter too.
This evening, a few games from the Euro 2024 have been playing. More on that later.
So I did finish off my day with the slow paced sunset π walk around the neighborhood. It's clear summer is here as I was sweaty just from a few rounds on the stationary bike and leg pressπΉ.
So now let's get into the trending stories that caught my eye π.
In the UK, the Tories PM Rishi Sunak has faced off with labour party leader Keir Starmer in a BBC head to head debate.
They both clashed over borders, tax, NHS and gender issues. Each one looking to win voters ahead of the 4th of July electionsπΉ.
In Kenya, the president has withdrawn the controversial finance bill that sought to raise prices of essential items. This after yesterday's deadly clashes in which 23 people diedπΏ.
If only he had listened to the people's views earlier, things would be quite different. A good example of a greedy leader out of touch with his peopleπ―.
In Gaza another horrendous bloody day as over 60 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikesπΏ. The attacks kept going in Gaza city, Beit lahia mostly targeting residential areas that are full of displaced peopleπ.
Across the pond in the US, Israeli defence minister, Yoav Gallant has been meeting top US officials in Washington DC.
PM Netanyahu has publicly accused Biden admin of slowing down weapon shipmentπΉ.
The US has sent more than $6.5 billion in weapons to Israel since October 7, with nearly $3 billion alone in Mayπ.
With Netanyahu not willing to stop anytime soon, am guessing the US will need a few more billion to goπΉ.Quite ironic when they ship aid to Gaza, crazy world.
Further down, Bolivia trending after a reported coup d'etat attempt. It's being reported that the military forcefully entered the presidential palace in the capital La Pazπ.
Finally, in the Euro 2024, Georgia shocked Portugal with a two nil defeat. They qualify for the final 16πΉ.Portugal qualify too despite the loss.
In another match, Turkey qualified for the last 16 by beating Czechia two to one.
Saturday sees the beginning of the last 16 countries as Switzerland take on Italy. More exciting games are coming up πΉ.
So that's about it for today, let's touch base again tomorrow on an amazing throwback Thursday π.
Until then, it's good night π΄ and Good bye β€οΈ.
Definitely Hakuna Matata π»
