Hello everyone π,
Happy Sunday π and a very warm welcome to my report π. As always I am grateful for this day, trust me, there are many who wanted to see it but couldn't so we are blessed to be hereπ―. Sunday is that day of gratitude and reflection. So thank you for stopping by and please keep reading π as I let you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. Let's get cracking π¨.
So today I didn't have my usual morning walk, instead I slept in as it was raining most of the morning.
Later, I had a big pile of laundry to get through. Then I also kept abreast with the trending news and emails. Later in the afternoon I had a little bit of walking going to the mall for some groceries and window shopping. I was back indoors for the usual refreshing nap. The evening came fast and I woke up to cooking, watching a bit of youtube. Then I was out as the sun was setting to enjoy the slow paced evening walk that winds down my day. This time around the hills; it was wonderful π₯°.
Finally let's quickly look at what was trending in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans πΉ kept going as politicians attended church, today was Palm Sunday.
On the continent, Senegal trending as they voted for a new president in a hotly contested election. Polls have closed and we will know the results in a few days. Things went well.
Meanwhile, in Nigeria, more than 130 kidnapped students were releasedπ.
Globally, another disappointing day in Gaza as 84 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hoursπΏ. Israeli military is carrying out heavy ground and airstrike attacks in Khan Younis in the south.
3 hospitals are now under complete siege. That is Nasser hospital and Amal hospital in Khan Younis. Al shifa hospital complex is also under Israeli controlπ.
Also trending, Israel has told UN it won't approve UNRWA food convoys to north Gaza, this despite of the famine situation that's unfolding. Expect more hunger deaths, especially childrenπ.
Pro Palestinian demonstrations have been taking place this weekend. In Jordan, protesters gathered outside Israeli embassy calling for a ceasefire and end of the war.
A similar protest was held in Marseille, France.
Still in Europe, Russia mourned the Moscow concert hall attack victims as death toll rose to 137π.
Two suspects appeared in court today charged with terrorism. This as thousands of people paid respect to the dead, placing flowers and lighting candles.
Also trending, Ukraine says it hit two Russian ships off occupied Crimea. Meanwhile, Russia fired a large number of missiles targeting Kyiv early on Sunday, most of which were intercepted.
Elsewhere, Ireland trending as Simon Harris will be the youngest prime minister after clinching party leadership. He will be voted in when parliament sits on April 9th. Congratulations π to him π at only 37 years.
Across the pond in the US, vice president Kamala Harris refused to rule out consequences for Israel if it invades Rafaπ. Remember Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to invade Rafa with or without US blessing even though such an invasion would be catastrophic to civiliansπΏ. Let's wait and see.
So that's it for today, See you again tomorrow on an awesome Monday π.Stay safe, take care and good bye πππ HAKUNA MATATA. >333
