Went to Wildcat Creek Campground and checked out their trail system. I walked a few miles before turning back as I started seeing signs of bear. Tree bark was getting scratched off at their height so I decided to turn back before I came across any.

@ddrfr33k yeah I've seen videos of people encountering them.. seems yelling at them makes them run off but I really dont want to find out.

Depends on the bear. Black bears will run like hell from a housecat. Grizzly bears will maul you, leave you for dead, then sit and wait for you to get up and maul you again.

@ddrfr33k luckily we only have black bears in the woods I visit.. though when I travel north I'll need to be aware of them.

@tattoodjay thanks alot, I probably would have had over 10k steps if I did not run into signs of bears.. but rather have less steps and come back next time rather than be killed by a bear.
