Meh kind of day as I wasn't able to get up and running early in the morning and hot stuck running in the heat (87) of the day. Can't complain that much and I have the next three days off. Nice salmon filet grilled with thick bacon for dinner. Yum, yum. Since I don't have a lot to post I figured I would pass on some ultra advice I am calling:
How to run an ultramarathon in 3 easy steps-
Step 1 - put on your shoes (and probably at least a pair of shorts)
Step 2 - put one foot in front of the other and
Step 3 - repeat step 2 for at least 50 miles and
VOILA!!! you've done an ultra. Now go and congratulate yourself on a job well done.
Yeah it's ridiculous but that is the basic idea but it's all the other, often minute, details that make or break you. There's so much information and advice out there in training and running ultras but it takes distilling the essentials and trying them out in practice to see what works best for you. Pick out a nice road ultra (removes the variables of a trail) and give it a go. Just finish and put that experience towards the next one. Let's see if we can get lots of ultra experience on #ultramarathon or #ultrarunning.

i think you forgot step 4, cut holes in your shirt so your nipples don't chafe and bleed.

I know, that singlet was always giving me that problem but it was so comfortable otherwise.
