Hello!

Thank you so much for all your follows and up-voting on my first post:

I'm looking forward to continuing this journey with you.

Would you prefer a video from now on?

I also need some advice in terms of kicking ass here and helping folks and making decent and relevant content. If there are any other Actors out there, it would be great to connect.

Any who, why am I an actor, why did I want to become an actor?

Jack Nicholson is my main reason. And my dad. Mainly my dad. He always used to do the skits and little plays at church. Loved it. Most kids want to be like their dads. He was never a professional, but he loved it. Then I started going to a drama group when I was 8. I played Hiawatha. Not PC I know. Then there was a couple of school plays.

When I reached high school... I kinda retreated into my shell... Had a hard time with bullying...then I got to the end of High School and like most actors I had an amazing Drama Teacher who said "I could see you in a costume drama". Have I been in a costume drama? No. It's a life goal. Be prepared, it maybe sooner than you think!

So I went to University to study Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. There I was in a few plays. Went to the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.

It was a wonderful time.

Then I didn't act for 8 years. Nothing. Nada.

Thought I had to get a proper job.

And that didn't work.

There was still a burning longing to live out my creative passions. To be who I wanted to be.
I was training to be a drama teacher and I got ill. Depressed ill. Not sad and mopey. But anxious, agitated and loathing myself. Thinking I wasn't good for anything. I stopped.

A friend asked me if I'd like a new job going into schools acting and teaching them about history and science through drama. I said yes. I then found out that I could become a professional actor by doing this. Since then, I haven't looked back.

Since then, it's been a crazy, crazy journey. I have learn't a lot. I'd love to share my failings and successes with you. Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes.

Have I answered why I am an actor? Partly.

The main reason is well, much like Eric Liddle:

Who said:

Where as I say; God has given me the ability to act and when I act I feel his pleasure.

I LOVE IT!

Big love!
