Kathmauer or wood peacock were once in good condition in the hill areas of Bangladesh. Even after Bangladesh became independent, it has many information to look at. Many people say that sometimes the call of the sudden can be heard.
They are birds of Phasianidae whose English name is Gray Peacock-Pheasant and the scientific name Polyplectron bicalcaratum; Which means the nail-shaped kathmora. Like the other Pheasant, this Kathmauer's son birds and girl birds have some different characteristics in size and appearance. The boy has a nice design and a long tail on the back of the bird. The girl bird is smaller than a boy and is dull.
The hilly areas of Bangladesh are found in the Sylhet and Hill forests. In addition to Bangladesh, in South East Asian countries such as India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand and even Vietnam, this kathmau is found in wild conditions. Although they are not in the face of extinction in the whole world, Bangladesh is in a state of great danger and Bangladesh is also protected by Wildlife Act.**# 2018-05-10_19.54.44.jpg
