Dog Acupressure for Hip Dysplasia : Dog Acupressure for Hip Dysplasia: Commission of the Middle

in acupressure •  6 years ago

Okay, our next point is going to be commission of the middle, or bladder 40, and it's right behind the knee. Even though it's a good general acupressure point, it's also very specific in that it works really well for pain in the hips, and the lower back area. So this is a really good one for hip dysplasia, and one that most dogs will tolerate pretty well. You go to the back of the knee, and again, you're finding that hole to slip your finger into. Push down, straight up and down motion. This is one point that should be held; it shouldn't be circ circular massaged, or generally massaged, and it's pretty easy to find, so it's pretty reasonable to do that. Again, it's one that's really, really good for any pain in the back half of the body, the hips, ankles, knees, so it's really good to use for just about any type of pain like this. In most cases you will want to do both legs, and you can do one hand on each leg at the same time.

If the dog is really relaxed and comfortable that's usually the easiest way to do it, just go ahead, and do both legs at the same time. .
