Allocation of transportation to ADP for two million crores of rupees

In this sector, the allocation will be 45, 449, 87 million taka, which is 26.17 percent of the total ADP.

Of this, Tk 5,333 crore will be for the Padma rail link project. The construction of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project is Tk 4,395 crore.

Besides, Tk 3,92 billion for Metro Rail Project, Tk 1,905 crore for Karnaphuli tunnel project and Tk 1,450 crore for Dohazari-Ramu-Cox's Bazar-Ghumudum railroad project.

In the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) in the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday, the ADP proposal was approved for the fiscal year 2018-19.

Later, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said at a press conference, the ADP has approved the total amount of Taka 7687.66 billion for the self financed institution's own funding of ADP with Tk 7,869 crore.

To implement this ADP, the government's own fund has been estimated to get Tk 1,13,000 crore. And 60 thousand crores of foreign aid and the self-financed institution's own fund is expected to provide 7,869 crores 17 lakhs.

The Planning Minister said, "The ADP is the life line of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth. So we are moving in a planned manner. Our goal is to become an advanced country in 2041. "

The proposed ADP size is approximately 17 percent more than the revised ADP of the current fiscal year 2017-18. And this would be more than 8 percent of the allocation for the development sector, compared to the gross domestic product (GDP).

Mustafa Kamal said, "Our goal of becoming a developed country has been fixed in the year 2030. Because last year of the implementation of sustainable development target (SDG) that year. By achieving that goal in a quality way, we want to be a developed country in 2041. "

Reminding the Prime Minister's four commitments, the Planning Minister said that all the attendees are 'on the path to fulfillment', attending all the schools, becoming a middle income country between 2021, digital Bangladesh and electricity for all by 2021;

"Now with a new plan, basic reforms will be introduced in different areas."

The minister said the highest allocations have been given in the transport sector considering the importance of rail connectivity in the development of the next fiscal year, Padma Bridge and Padma Bridge.

In addition to the priority, the second highest allocation of electricity and the third highest allocation has been given to the physical plan-water supply and housing sector.
